About Us

My wife and I are the co-owners and founders of Protect 70, an affiliate program to bring plastic and silicone-free products together in one place for consumers. Both of us grew up on the west coast of the United States and have a profound love for the ocean. It's a source of power and comfort for us both. Something about the magnitude and the beauty of it simultaneously stirs and soothes our souls.

Because of that, the health of the ocean is something we care deeply about, and the plastic crisis stood out to us as an issue that must be addressed. When we began trying to make choices for our family to shift as much away from plastic as we could, we found it to be an overwhelming process. Tirelessly researching each and every product on the market just to find an alternative to one everyday household item can be frustrating and exhausting. We know that we can't be the only ones that feel this way.

So, we decided to start Protect 70. Our goal is to be the single best marketplace available to find 100% plastic and silicone-free items, from product to packaging. We have personally ordered every item in our shop to make sure it meets our criteria.

Any change is a good one. Moving away from single-use plastic water bottles for a refillable option, no matter the material, is a step in the right direction. However, we believe that the impacts of plastic, from the fossil fuels used and burned in the production of it to the end product that will never disappear, need to be reduced as much as possible.
